For stays of 24 hours or more, you can choose between the General Car Park, Premium Car Park, and Reserved Parking. The airport owns and maintains the General Car Park, Premium Car Park, and Reserved Parking. All three car parks provide safe, secure long-stay parking at a reasonable price, however, the General Car Park and Reserved Parking are basic open-air lots, while the Premium Car Park is undercover.
The Reserved Car Park accepts online reservations, while the General Car Park and Premium Car Park do not. The major differences between the facilities relate to their rates, opening hours, accepted payment methods, and security features:
Under its new name the General Car Park Ballina, the Long Stay Car Park is within short walking distance of the terminal building and is open to meet the first and last flights of the day.
Travellers can book their parking on-site when they leave the car park through the exit barrier (card only), or by paying at one of the payment machines within the terminals, with a card or cash.
Reserved Parking is the newest addition to the Ballina Byron Airport. It carries a flat rate of $25 per day and is the closest car lot to the terminals. This car park allows you to reserve a spot up to 10 minutes in advance before arriving and allows you to cancel your booking an hour before your entry.
Please note that tickets for Reserved Parking can not be bought in person and this car park does not offer undercover parking.
The Premium Car Park, which used to be called the Short Stay Car Park, is the second-closest car park to the terminals and offers shade sails. In addition, there are a few disabled parking spaces that are available right in front of the main entry. This car park has a daily flat rate of $30.00.
Ballina Airport's long-term parking rates vary based on the car park you choose and the duration of your stay. The General Car Park is the most affordable option, charging $160.00 for one week and $300.00 for two weeks.
The Reserved Car Park and Premium Car Park are closer to the terminals and therefore more expensive. The Reserved Car Park rates start at $200.00 for one week and $375.00 for two weeks. The Premium Car Park, the priciest option, charges $240.00 for one week and $450.00 for two weeks.
